Privacy Policy

Members

Cycling Australia (CA) is committed to the protection and privacy of members’ information.

CA requires the information requested in the membership application in order to provide you with the membership services of Cycling Australia. Any personal information provided will only be used in accordance with the objects and purposes of CA, CA general business and to provide you with membership services.

If the requested personal information is not provided you may not be able to receive the full benefits of membership of CA. CA will not disclose any personally identifiable information obtained from you to other parties for purposes other than those stated above without your written consent, except in circumstances where disclosure is required to prevent a threat to health or life or is authorised by law or reasonably necessary to enforce the law. 

CA records members personal information on a national database protected by appropriate security protocols. The records of members who are accredited coaches or commissaires are also provided to the Australian Sports Commission for the purposes of administering these national accreditation schemes.

Individuals will be able to access their personal information through CA upon reasonable notice.

e-Cycle Subscription

Cycling Australia (CA) requires the personal information requested in the subscription sign up form in order to provide you with services as a supporter of Cycling Australia. As part of your subscription we may ask for your user name, password, place of birth, full name, telephone number, e-mail address and postal address, or other information to register online, or for your credit card number or other personally identifying information to receive products or services. We may also ask you about your age, hobbies, income, gender or other information to participate in surveys or other online activities.

Any personal information provided will only be used in accordance with the objects and purposes of Cycling Australia, Cycling Australia general business and to provide you with services. Providing information on online forms is always voluntary, and you are free to decline from completing them. If you choose not to provide requested information, however, some products and services may not be available to you.

When you visit this website some information, such as the site that referred you to us and your IP  may be collected automatically as part of the site's operation. This information is used to generate user profiles and to personalise the website to your particular interests.

Cycling Australia may compile data in aggregate form so we may better understand the users visiting our site. For example, we may produce reports on the most popular search terms by collecting general search data based on individual searches. Aggregate data is anonymous and does not contain any personal information that identifies a user.

Cycling Australia will not sell, rent or disclose any personally identifiable information obtained from you to other parties for purposes other than those stated above without your written consent, except in circumstances where disclosure is required to prevent a threat to health or life or is authorised by law or reasonably necessary to enforce the law.

Individuals will be able to access their personal information through Cycling Australia upon reasonable notice.

Individuals can unsubscribe at any time in which case their information will be deleted from the database.

Security

Cycling Australia has several operational functions in place to protect your personal information and every effort is made to ensure these are kept up-to-date. However, perfect security does not exist on the Internet and the Cycling Australia does not warrant that  our sites are impenetrable or invulnerable to hackers.

Surveys and Competitions

From time to time Cycling Australia may host contests and/or surveys. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has the choice whether or not to disclose their personal information.  Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as age, gender, post code). Contact  information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for the purposes of monitoring or improving the use of the site and service to members and subscribers.

Changes to the Online Privacy Policy

Cycling Australia reserves the right to change our online privacy policy. However we shall not do so without posting any such changes on our website.
