Entries Available for Level 2 BMX Coaching Course - Brisbane

APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED

The BMX Australia / Cycling Australia Coach Education Department would like to give you notice of the opening of applications for the NCAS Level 2 BMX Coach Training Program to be delivered in Queensland during October 2010.

This new Level 2 BMX coaching course has been extended to five days to allow for more learning and knowledge opportunities for coaches, more practical elements and more face-to-face time between coach attendees and course presenters. Please see the Level 2 Coach Training Program Information Sheet that outlines the course details and training program modules.

 

Training Program details are as follows:

  • Dates: Monday 25th - Friday 29th October 2010 (5 days)
  • Time: 9am-6pm daily (approx.)
  • Venues: Queensland Academy of Sport (Mt Gravatt, Brisbane) and other venues in the Brisbane area
  • Cost: $880 per person (inc. GST) - This is the reduced training program cost, subsidised by BMX Australia and Cycling Australia, and is available only to Cycling Australia, BMX Australia and Mountain Bike Australia Members (but please note that this is a BMX coaching course and does not cover road, track or MTB specific knowledge content). Additional subsidies may be available – please contact your Club, State/Territory Organisation, SIS/SAS or NTID Program Coordinator.
  • Closing Date: Friday 8th October 2010

  

Course cost includes:

  • Five days of comprehensive coach education for BMX coaches to operate at the elite-level
  • Sport science laboratory and BMX track practical sessions
  • Course presenters ranging from international coach educators to sport scientists from the Australian Institute of Sport and the Queensland Academy of Sport, to National Coaches.
  • Morning/afternoon tea and lunch each day.

Please note that coaches will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation.

You are hereby invited to submit an application to attend the training program. Please click here to download the application form. Please note that this is the first delivery of the new Level 2 BMX course, therefore places are limited and will be offered to coaches who show they have the skills, knowledge and willingness to progress their coaching and be an active Level 2 coach in their State. 

Applications must include a completed application form and be submitted with payment or payment details. Applicants will be advised in writing if they have been successful in applying to attend this course.  Upon confirmation of places, directions and suggested accommodation will be forwarded to course attendees.

NOTE 1: Please note that places on the Level 2 BMX Coach Training Program are limited and will be offered to coaches who show they have the skills, knowledge and willingness to progress their coaching and be an active Level 2 coach in their State.

NOTE 2: Current NCAS Level 1 BMX Coach Accreditation, a valid First Aid qualification and membership of BMX Australia are pre-requisites to attend the Level 2 BMX Coach Training Program. Membership of Cycling Australia or Mountain Bike Australia is also sufficient.
